As a kind of new energy, biomass energy has the advantages of rich output, wide variety, low carbon and environmental protection, etc., and is widely used at home and abroad, among which thermochemical conversion to prepare syngas is an important way to efficiently utilize biomass resources. The process of high-temperature thermochemical conversion of biomass will be accompanied by the formation of a large amount of soot, and the size of biomass soot particles is usually in the submicron range, which brings great difficulties to the subsequent synthesis gas purification and reactor maintenance.

Our goal is to study the nucleation, coalescence and surface reaction of soot particles, especially the characteristics of the evolution of biomass tar and soot precursors. Based on the numerical simulation method, we study the evolution of soot particle size in the process of material gasification by improving the soot generation algorithm in the calculation model, and carry out relevant biomass gasification soot generation experiments to verify the accuracy of the algorithm.
